Benfica sit second in the table with 22 points from 9 matches, having recorded 7 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat, scoring 26 goals and conceding just 8. Estrela, meanwhile, are twelfth with 10 points from 9 matches, with 2 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats, having scored 14 goals and conceded 17.

Benfica go into the match on the back of a positive run of results, having won their last four matches, most recently a 2-1 win over Santa Clara on 26 October 2026, as well as wins over Omonia Nicosia 4-1, Celtic 4-1 and Vitoria 2-0, with their only defeat in this period coming against Porto 1-3 on 20 September 2026.
