Tapsoba double leads Leverkusen comeback against Nurnberg and 5-2 win in German Cup

[Bayer Leverkusen](https://riyadaty.com/en/team/bayer-leverkusen-261) qualified for the next round of the [DFB-Pokal](https://riyadaty.com/en/competition/dfb-pokal-61) after a big win over visitors [FC Nurnberg](https://riyadaty.com/en/team/fc-nurnberg-1550) by a score of 5-2, in a match held on 28 October 2026 in the round of 32 competition.

FC Nurnberg had surprised their hosts by scoring two early goals, the first through Rafael Lubach in the 13th minute, then S. Hauggen added the second goal in the 30th minute to put his team two goals clear.

But defender [Edmond Fayçal Tapsoba](https://riyadaty.com/en/player/edmond-fay%C3%A7al-tapsoba-7694) had other ideas, scoring two consecutive goals for his team, the first in the 41st minute before the end of the first half, and the second in the 49th minute at the start of the second half, with Tapsoba levelling the score and restoring balance to his team.

After Tapsoba's double, Bayer Leverkusen continued their pressure and Patrik Schick added a third goal from a penalty kick in the 70th minute, giving his team the lead for the first time in the match.

Jonas Hofmann then extended his team's lead with a fourth goal in the 78th minute, before Lucas Vazquez concluded the match's events with the fifth goal in the 89th minute.

With this result, Bayer Leverkusen achieved a deserved 5-2 win thanks to the goals that came after falling behind, securing their qualification to the next round of the German Cup for the 2026 season.
