Caci's brace not enough to prevent Mainz falling 3-4 to Leverkusen

FSV Mainz 05 lost 3-4 to visitors Bayer Leverkusen in a match between the two sides in matchday five of the Bundesliga, played on 10 October 2026 at 16:30 Damascus time.

Anthony Caci scored two goals for Mainz in the 33rd and 42nd minutes, but that was not enough to avoid defeat against Leverkusen.

Leverkusen started the match strongly as Robert Andrich opened the scoring in the 5th minute, before Patrik Schick added the second goal in the 9th minute.

Before the break, Anthony Caci narrowed the gap with two goals in the 33rd and 42nd minutes to level the score for Mainz.

In the second half, Leverkusen went ahead again through goals from Jarell Quansah in the 55th minute and Moussa Diaby in the 65th minute.

In the closing minutes, Benedikt Hollerbach scored Mainz's third goal in stoppage time in the 90+2 minute, but the result ended in favour of Bayer Leverkusen by four goals to three.
