Holstein Kiel host Hoffenheim in DFB-Pokal round of 32

1899 Hoffenheim, meanwhile, showed a more mixed form, winning their last three matches against Bayer Leverkusen 3-0, Lyon 3-0 and Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1, after suffering two consecutive defeats before that against Besiktas 2-3 and Hamburg 2-3.

Historically, the two sides have met in four previous encounters, the last of which was on 29 July 2026 when 1899 Hoffenheim won 3-1 as hosts. In the previous meeting on 18 January 2025, 1899 Hoffenheim also won 3-1 when Holstein Kiel were the hosts. 1899 Hoffenheim also came out on top in two earlier matches, winning 3-2 on 24 August 2024 and 5-1 on 26 October 2021, both of which were played on their home ground.
