Inter and Lazio top Serie A after matchday eight

Matchday eight of the Italian Serie A football league concluded with several notable results, most prominently Inter's 2-1 win over Fiorentina and Lazio's 2-1 win over Parma, allowing both teams to maintain their joint lead at the top of the table.

Among the other results, Torino beat Monza 3-2, Bologna beat Cagliari 2-0, and Como beat Sassuolo 2-0, while the match between Napoli and Roma ended in a 3-3 draw.

Genoa also beat Venezia 1-0, Atalanta drew with Frosinone in a high-scoring 4-4 game, Juventus beat hosts Lecce 2-0, and Milan beat Udinese 2-0.

At the top of the table, Inter lead on 22 points from 8 matches on goal difference ahead of Lazio, who have the same points total, while Roma are third with 18 points, followed by Milan in fourth place with the same tally.

At the other end, Fiorentina are 18th with 4 points, followed by Parma in 19th place also with 4 points, while Venezia are bottom of the table in 20th place with just 3 points.
