Two goals from Goto lead Freiburg to victory over Wolfsburg in DFB-Pokal
Keisuke Goto scored two goals for Freiburg in the 75th and 90+2nd minutes to turn his team's deficit into a 3-2 win over Wolfsburg in the round of 32 of the DFB-Pokal.
SC Freiburg beat visitors VfL Wolfsburg 3-2 in a match held on 28 October 2026 as part of the round of 32 of the DFB-Pokal competition, at 20:00 Saudi time.
Hosts Freiburg opened the scoring early through Igor Matanovic in the 6th minute, before Wolfsburg turned the result around with two goals scored by K. Shiogai in the 8th and 43rd minutes.
In the second half, Freiburg fought back strongly thanks to their player Keisuke Goto, who scored the equaliser in the 75th minute.
In the final minutes of stoppage time, Goto added his second goal and his team's third goal in the 90+2nd minute, giving Freiburg the 3-2 win.
With this brace, Goto led his team to qualification after having trailed in the score, in a match that saw five goals shared between the two teams.
